Sample Timetable for Childminding Day
I complete Health and Safety checks on all childminding areas to be used and check there are adequate toys set up for freeplay for children, before they arrive.
7:30 * 8:30 am
Greet parents and children -> record any relevant information provided by parents -> Freeplay.
8:30 am
Get all children ready for and take on school run. Practice road safety.
Visit Local Park on way home.
9:30 - 10:00 am
Planned activities.
10:00 - 10:30 am
Drink and snack, followed by Quiet time.
(Quiet time could be, i.e. stories, puzzles, DVD/video, or a nap)
10:30 - 11:15 am
Planned activity and/or Freeplay.
11:15 - 12:00 am
Tidy up, Wash hands, set the table and have Lunch.
(11:45 - 12:00)
(some children are collected from pre-school/home)
12:15 pm
Take children to afternoon Pre-school. Practice road safety.
1:00 pm
Visit Library/Quiet time.
1:00 - 3:00 pm (Fridays only)
Visit Children's Centre for 'Toddler Group'
1:45 pm
Planned or child-initiated play/activities -> Freeplay
3:00 - 4:00 pm
Get ready and go on school runs. Practice road safety. Visit Park/ Errands/shopping etc. Snack and drink.
4:00 - 5:00 pm
Get everyone settled in an activity of their choice.
(Games/Crafts/T.V./Computer)
Individually help children with reading/homework etc.
5:00 - 6:00 pm
Freeplay -> Get children ready to go home -> Greet parents and exchange information -> Hand over children to their parents.

Now I can clean, clear up and set up some activities for the next day.

this is just a guideline, as school/Nursery pickup and drop off times
can vary, depending on the children in our care each day and which
School/Nursery they attend. During
the holidays especially, when there may be more/different children here, we also
organise various extra outdoor activities and outings - some are free and
some may incur additional costs - you will get notice of these.
